Engin Emre Cup 1 - 2024

Cup 2 - 20/11/24

Rain! No results recorded - though credit to Andy winning all but one race. Colin proved competitive as usual...

Cup 3

Sunday was a grey morning; with little to no wind as I cycled past the pond. By the time we left with the yachts however, we were up to a gentle yet persistent breeze of about 10kts. Weed proved a large problem for those failing to navigate it properly (everyone). Nick was the only one managing to avoid it every race, and it paid off... every DNF was due to weed.

Credit is due to Charlie whose new winch placed him in front of the fleet consistently until Mr. Weed came up from the depths and welcomed him and his keel with many many arms.

Cup 4

17/11/24 - A great turnout, 10 boats - more than the trailer could handle! A beautiful day and some great competitive racing - joined with some visitors from Malta, Martin with his printed IOM and of course junior Mathias.

Cup 5

Lots of rain and very cold! most people gave up by race 4 and everyone by 5!

The tragic tale of Charlie; who hooked himself on a buoy, went to rescue in the dinghy, hooked the buoy on the underside of the dinghy, tried to find it when it was underneath it, hence didn't look at his boat which got stuck on the far side of the pond; then went to get his boat still dragging the windward mark underneath him! All in the rain!

Well done to Barrie, who proved very competitive once again. Nick managed to lose half a finger in trying to overtake him on the reaches and somehow still finished! Nice strong breeze for the majority of the morning, perfect breezes.

Cup 6

To finish the series, sailors met on a pleasant morning without rain, but also without too much wind... Well done to Andy for rounding off the series! A great number of races and competitors were found, and it would be great to see this continue into the new year.
